Does the OCIO provide training for my staff on the ROC talkgroups?
After the equipment is installed and tested by the radio service technicians, the OCIO Public Safety Team schedules no-cost training for users (managers and dispatchers) of the ROC resources in the communications center. It’s important that field personnel also attend the ROC training sessions, so they understand how interoperability with SRS users at the dispatch center can enhance communications on the street.
The training sessions are approximately 2½ hours, including hands-on practice making “live” test calls on the ROC talkgroups from the dispatch console. The sessions can be scheduled to cover all shifts, over two consecutive days, if desired. See the attached ROC Training Presentation (pdf).
