TYLER SWEENEY
In recognition of your work for the Department of Motor Vehicles in resolving an issue with the RemoteApp. The issue was causing unacceptable slowness when initially starting an app via the RemoteApp website. Devin Townsend commented, “This is a fantastic example of partnering between NDOT and the CIO to resolve a difficult issue. Throughout the process Tyler spent a lot of time coordinating between NDOT, the CIO, and Microsoft and was always very helpful and cordial in correspondence between all of the stakeholders. I’d like to recognize Tyler for his efforts.”
Website “Reason for Nomination”: I wanted to point out an issue that has been resolved with the RemoteApp environment in hopes that we can celebrate it as a fantastic example of partnering between NDOT and the CIO to resolve a difficult issue. The ticket I’m referring to is https://serviceportal.ne.gov/Incident/Edit/IR317887/. This ticket involved an issue with RemoteApp that was causing unacceptable slowness when initially starting an app via the RemoteApp website. The initial start of any app was taking 1 minute +. Our customers were dissatisfied with that performance and asked for it to be resolved numerous times. The NDOT RemoteApp team worked primarily with Tyler Sweeney to identify the issue. Tyler Sweeney in turn worked extensively with Microsoft to pin down the exact cause of the slowness. Throughout the process Tyler spent a lot of time coordinating between NDOT, the CIO, and Microsoft. Even though this ticket took a long time to resolve, Tyler was always very helpful and cordial in correspondence between all of the stakeholders. I’m not exactly sure how to go about it, but I’d like NDOT to recognize Tyler for his efforts. Please let me know how I can help do this. - Devin
