Our top priority is to ensure a safe and secure environment to the citizens of Nebraska by safeguarding our information systems, reducing our vulnerability to cyberattacks, and increasing our responsiveness to cyber threats.

As part of the Office of the CIO, the State Information Security Officer along with the Risk Mitigation and Compliance team proactively:

  • Helps set strategy to build secure access protocols and network architecture
  • Mitigates security risk through outreach, awareness, assessment, policy, and best practice recommendations
  • Participates in monitoring networks and systems to protect against and detect malicious activity and ensure State and Federal compliance requirements
  • Investigates and responds to identified security incidents and improves established controls

Please remember the important role we all play in our 'virtual' world. If we each do our part individually, we can have a positive impact collectively on the State of Nebraska's cybersecurity.

Thank You,

Patrick Wright, State Information Security Officer, State of Nebraska
